Lucy Wood was born in Britain and emigrated to New Zealand in 1981. In 1989 she studied at ASA School of Art, Auckland, New Zealand. Wood returned to London graduating in 1992 with a BA hons in Fine Art from Camberwell College of Art, going on to graduate from City University London with an MA in Arts Criticism in 1994.

Wood currently lives and works in London and has exhibited in the UK and abroad.
